Pet Diary (わんにゃん日記) Privacy Policy
Pet Diary (hereinafter "the App") respects the privacy of our users and is committed to protecting personal information.
1. Information We Collect
The App handles the following information:
User-Provided Information
- Pet information (name, type, birthday)
- Pet photos
- Diary content (text, photos, videos)
- Meal and toilet records
Information Collected by External Services
- Google AdMob (advertising): identifiers such as the advertising ID and app set ID, IP address (which may be used to estimate general location), interactions such as ad impressions and clicks, and device and app diagnostic information
- Google Analytics for Firebase (usage analytics): app-instance ID, advertising ID, device and app information, events such as first opens, screen views, sessions, engagement and ad impressions, and approximate location derived from IP addresses
- Firebase Crashlytics (troubleshooting): diagnostic information such as crashes and errors, stack traces, app state and device information at the time of an incident, and per-installation identifiers
The information collected varies depending on service specifications, device settings, consent status and other factors.
Purchase Information
- The App communicates with Google Play to query paid product information, make purchases and restore purchases, and handles information such as product identifiers and purchase status
2. How We Use Information
User-Provided Information
- To provide app functionality (record and display diary entries)
- To save and manage data
- For sharing and export selected by the user
Advertising, Analytics, Diagnostic and Purchase Information
- To display and deliver advertisements, measure their effectiveness and prevent fraud
- To analyze app usage and improve features and quality
- To investigate and fix crashes and errors
- To display paid product information, process purchases, and check and restore purchase status
3. Data Storage
Local Storage, Sharing and Export
- Pet information, diary entries, photos, videos and similar content are primarily stored in the App's dedicated storage on your device
- When you share or export data, it is passed to the app, storage destination or recipient you select
- Advertising, usage analytics, diagnostic and purchase information is transmitted to the external services described in Sections 1 and 4
Cloud Sync and OS Backups
- The App does not provide its own cloud sync functionality
- Android backup is enabled, so the App's databases, settings and files may be included in OS cloud backups or device-to-device transfers, depending on the device, OS, user settings and other conditions
- The scope and operation of OS backup and restoration depend on the device and OS specifications and settings
4. Third-Party Data Sharing
The App does not share personal information with third parties except in the following cases:
Google Advertising, Analytics, Diagnostic and Purchase Services
- We use Google AdMob for advertising, Google Analytics for Firebase for usage analytics, Firebase Crashlytics for troubleshooting, and Google Play for paid purchases, restoration and related functions
- Google Analytics and AdMob are linked. Analytics data is available for use in AdMob, and AdMob ad-revenue data and related information may be used in Analytics. Data use through this link operates separately from the Analytics data-sharing setting for "Google products and services"

User Sharing and OS Backups
- When you use sharing, export, OS backup or device-to-device transfer as described in Section 3, the selected recipients and the relevant backup or transfer providers handle the data

5. Data Security
- The App does not apply its own encryption to on-device databases, photos, videos or similar content. Device and OS protections depend on their specifications and settings
- JSON backup files exported by the App are not encrypted with a password or similar protection. Converting images, videos or other content to Base64 is not encryption. Please choose storage destinations and recipients carefully
- External communication includes usage analytics, troubleshooting and purchases in addition to advertising
6. User Rights
Data Deletion
- Uninstalling the App deletes data in the App's dedicated storage on your device
- Uninstalling the App does not guarantee deletion of shared or exported copies, OS backups or records held by external services. Please check the settings and procedures of each storage destination or service
- Individual diary entries and pet information can be deleted from within the app
Advertising Settings and Consent
- Android settings provide controls such as resetting or deleting your advertising ID. Available options and steps vary by device and OS version
- The App uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to check advertising consent and determine whether ads can be requested
- Advertising consent and advertising ID settings are separate from controls for stopping Firebase Crashlytics collection. The App does not include a mechanism that stops Crashlytics collection in response to advertising choices. Analytics data handling varies depending on service settings and consent status
7. Children's Privacy
This app is not intended for children under 13. If children under 13 use this app, it should be under parental supervision.
8. Changes to Privacy Policy
This privacy policy may be updated as necessary. We will notify you within the app of any significant changes.
